The mission of G.I. JuJitsu is to serve the
Warriors of the Armed Forces of the United States of America by
recognizing their outstanding achievements in the martial arts. History of JuJutsu.
G.I. JuJitsu was established to recognize the combatives skills of the Armed Forces of the United States of America.
The Army and Air Force have adopted the Modern Army Combatives Program and the Marine Corps and Navy have adopted the Marine Corps Martial Arts Program (MCMAP). G.I.
JuJitsu understands the commitment and dedication of today’s Warriors and strives to recognize their achievement. |

It is often troublesome for
members of the Armed Forces to move up in rank within the martial arts. Many Warriors have decades of experience
in the martial arts but have not been awarded rank because of the
expeditionary nature of the Military. The invariable moving, training, and deployment cycles make it challenging
for members of the Armed Forces to achieve rank in a given discipline.
G.I.
JuJitsu offers promotions to members of the Armed Forces who have been trained in their service’s combatives program.
For example, a soldier who has completed the Modern Army Combatives Program level one instructor course will be promoted to Green Belt under G.I. JuJitsu and the Midori Yama Budokai.
G.I. JuJitsu is chartered under the Midori Yama Budokai. The Midori Yama Budokai is an organization for
the propagation of martial styles and techniques with the purpose of maintaining traditional values and intent of the original martial arts styles.
Modern Army Combatives Certified Instructors can register
their experience with G.I. JuJitsu and the Midori Yama Budokai in order to receive a promotion in JuJitsu. This is a
great way for Modern Army Combatives Instructors to obtain civilian credentials for their military training. America
trusts these men and women who serve our country to teach her sons and daughters hand to hand combat (the ultimate martial
art). In an attempt to recognize their training and commitment to the martial arts, G.I. JuJitsu will promote any
Army Combatives Instructor to an equivalent belt in JuJitsu. Please understand that this is not a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
(BJJ) Promotion. Although it would be hard to argue that a Army Combatives Level II Instructor has not received
the same training as a BJJ Blue Belt. This is a traditional JuJitsu promotion under the G.I.
JuJitsu Club which is chartered through the Midori Yama Budokai. Please refer to the chart to see what belt
you qualify for as a Modern Army Combatives Instructor.
